Buddha history

I forgot to give the history of the 5 ton golden buddha. Apparently, it was made 700 years ago, but then covered in cement to protect it from being stolen by invading countries. It was only discovered to be solid gold in 1955, when they were trying to move it and a piece of cement broke off. I would think the weight of the thing would also be a clue that it wasn't just cement. Anyway, they took off all the cement in 1955 to restore it to it's original condition.
