Don't Break-up via text

I got a text today from a guy I had gone out with a few times. He wanted to inform me that he wasn't ready for a 'serious' relationship. I wasn't aware that I wanted a 'serious' relationship either- whatever that is. But, I have a little advice:

Don't communicate relationship status via text- it's poor form

and

Don't assume you can read my mind or heart- you'll probably be wrong
